The Lexicon I-ONIX series transforms your computer into a professional 24-bit digital recording studio. Cleverly designed to sit in the space between your keyboard and your monitor, the U22 is the range-opener, bringing meticulously thought-out design, in addition to eye-catching looks and comprehensive specification.

The elegant chassis sits inclined at an angle for users, so the clearly laid-out fascia controls, including monitor and input level controls, are always in view and easily within reach. The USB 2.0-equipped interface can simultaneously record two channels – so it’s ideal for a guitar and microphone – plus there is a host of further connectivity, including two balanced line outputs and a high-power headphone output.

The U22 package also includes Steinberg Cubase LE4 multi-track Mac and PC recording software, as well as Toontrack EZdrummer Lite virtual instrument software. Naturally, for a Lexicon recording system, the U22 also brings Lexicon’s revered reverb, the Pantheon II VST/AU plug-in. With 35 factory presets, ranging from Vocal to Live Sound and Special Effects, these exquisitely rich, full reverbs add dimension and depth to any track.

Part of the I-ONIX Desktop Recording Series, the U22 features Lexicon’s newly designed dbx microphone preamps on all analogue inputs. A high-voltage supply drives these preamps, ensuring stability and providing superior recordings across a wide dynamic range. The U22 also, thanks to performance-driven A/D-D/A converters, presents pristine 24-bit/96kHz sound.
