Quantel announces support for RED Rocket (22/9/2009)

Latest software for Pablo, iQ and eQ supports RED Rocket accelerator board

The open nature of Quantel systems means that customers can now plug a RED Rocket accelerator board from RED straight into a spare PCI Express slot in their Pablo, iQ or eQ systems. The benefit is much reduced RED media loading and conform times.

The RED Rocket turbocharges the Quantel multilayer RED conform workflow. The board accelerates RED debayering performance by up to 600%, making conforms go much faster and enabling dailies-type workflows on Quantel systems.

“The RED Rocket is a great way to accelerate the Quantel RED workflow and gets your finishing or grading session started in the shortest possible time – a real benefit for post houses and clients alike,” said David Throup, Quantel R&D Group Leader, Special Applications.

Support for RED Rocket will be available in V4.1rev6 software for eQ, iQ and Pablo, planned for release at the end of September 2009.
