Rimage shows solutions for accelerating and automating high definition production workflows (7/10/2008)

Demonstration of new Rimage products and solutions for managing, distributing and archiving HDTV content files for digital production houses and broadcasters 

Rimage, the leading provider of on-demand digital CD/DVD/Blu-ray publishing systems, showed at IBC2008 its latest workflow and archiving solutions for production companies and broadcasters working with HDTV content. This includes the European debut of the new Rimage Producer 6100 DVD/DVD Blu-ray disc publishing system for professional production environments; and a live demonstration of HD workflows utilising the latest Rimage DiscFlow for Mac and Rimage Video Protect technologies.

Rimage systems are integral to enabling tape-less, file-based workflows in production and post-production of standard definition and high definition digital content. High Definition (HD) has five times the resolution of standard definition files. Sharing these over networks is difficult because of the larger file sizes, creating the requirement for the integrated, secure disc-based workflow solutions based on Rimage technology.  

At IBC 2008, Rimage will show a complete solution for HDTV digital content workflow and archiving based on its new DiscFlow software. This enables Apple OS X users to burn, print and distribute audio, video and data discs automatically by using a Rimage Producer or Professional Series digital publishing system as part of an integrated production workflow. DiscFlow is a native Mac client application and works with Apple Final Cut Pro, Avid, Adobe and many other popular digital production packages. 

The solution at IBC will utilize the new Rimage Producer 6100 which is a networked and fully automated CD/DVD/BD disc publishing system that creates unique on-demand discs for rough cuts, dubs, review and approval and archive among other applications.  The system is designed to seamlessly integrate into any digital production workflow.  

A further integral element of the solution will be the latest version of the Rimage Video Protect software. Designed to protect all digital disc-based assets throughout the workflow process, this prevents unauthorized copying and blocks all known ripping tools, while not impairing picture quality or interrupting the workflow.
