Editware Announces Fastrack K2-H control for K2 Media Server (28/4/2008)

Fastrack K2-H offers control of multiple Grass Valley K2s and VTRs as well as control of routers and video switchers for a complete editing workflow.

Editware announces Fastrack K2-H. Fastrack K2-H edits non-linearly with K2 and VTRs for playout, record and ingest. In addition, it serves as a traditional linear editor using K2 as the record VTR for insert, assemble and pre-read edits.

Fastrack K2-H control application uses combined AMP, .Net and VDCP commands for optimum speed and control.  Among other features, this new Fastrack application allows the K2 to simulate VTR editing by creating real-time complex movies.

Broadcast server users have many workflows and applications. The Fastrack K2-H was designed as an open system adaptable to many different environments and applications. Fastrack K2-H has the flexibility and capability to address all editing environments including post production, news, sports, live production, broadcast applications and fast turnaround.

The Fastrack K2-H incorporates an intuitive Graphic User Interface.  This GUI eliminates the need for using timecode numbers, and makes the editing process a non-linear “see & hear” process, while giving the user the proven speed and flexibility of a linear edit system.  The Fastrack K2-H application supports dual monitors, and a text-based Work Bin is provided with a complete EDL-style representation of the graphical Timeline.  10 active EDL Bins are also available at the click of a mouse.
