News EVS Presents XT[2]-EditRec for Linear and Hybrid editing (10/4/2008) EVS will present the XT[2]-EditRec, a simple and efficient VTR replacement solution dedicated to linear editing, offering unmatched production capabilities, at NAB 2008. XT[2]-EditRec is the latest EVS multi-channel disk recorder solution for linear and hybrid editing workflows. It combines advanced disk technology with VTR-like, field-proven solutions used in the day-to-day broadcast industry. Built on an XT[2] production server, EditRec offers the recording, control, and playback capabilities required for online editing of today's live sports and news programming. Pierre L'Hoest comments: "The EditRec solution is our answer to market demand for more efficient linear editing combined with prevailing linear editing devices and all the advantages of a tapeless workflow. Based on years of experience in sports and live events production, where EVS has offered unmatched solutions and tapeless workflows, we wanted to offer linear editors truly tapeless benefits while keeping the simplicity of the VTR devices. We are proud to present the XT[2]-EditRec, which achieves both goals." Optimized for linear editing workflows, XT[2]-EditRec offers fast and easy control of any audio/video source from any standard linear editor. XT[2]-EditRec not only integrates all VTR functions (inserts, overwrite, and assemble) but also offers unique tapeless capabilities such as edit-while-recording, access to the entire EVS production network, non-destructive "pre-read", and instant ripple and undo functions usually reserved to non-linear editors. In addition, the EVS high-speed production network allows material to be shared between and accessed instantly by several edit suites in various locations of the production facility, even while the record is still in progress, in SD as well as in HD. This means editors don't need to wait for the end of a take, or for tape dubs, to start editing. XT[2]-EditRec will be presented exclusively at EVS' booth at NAB 2008 (C4911).
