IDX Technology Powers Hi-Def at NAB2007 (8/3/2007)

IDX is presenting a complete range of power products to meet the demands of high-def cameras, camcorders and accessories. This is able to cater for the high current draw of many HD products and to keep them running longer while also building on IDX's reputation for dependability, performance and ROI.

A new era of batteries built for powering the highly mobile, high-definition video age has arrived with the NAB2007 debut of the 142Wh V-Mount ENDURA ELITE battery. This provides ENG/EFP professionals with power for today's hi-def cameras giving extra long non-stop shooting, from this light compact and flight friendly battery. Its unique twin Power Cartridge design enables its certification for hassle-free travel on any aircraft - making it the world's highest capacity environmentally friendly Li-ion battery that can travel so easily. Added to that is IDX's reputation for lasting dependable operation over a long life span which is enhanced as, when its Power Cartridges finally wear out, they can be replaced. So the V-Mount and the electronics that ensures safe and long-life operation (as well as supporting Digi-View and holding battery management data for i-Trax monitoring), is effectively recycled, lowering running costs. Future Power Cartridges will reflect the continued developments of Li-ion chemistry, most likely bringing yet more capacity to ELITE.

ELITE is just one piece of the hi-def power jigsaw. IDX is spearheading the development of chargers that match the requirements of high capacity, fast turnaround and long battery life. Making their NAB debut are the ENDURA VL-2SPlus 2-channel fully simultaneous charger that doubles as a 100W AC adaptor and includes PowerBase mode for go-anywhere battery-powered DC supply; the AC-100HD 100W V-Mount AC adaptor also with PowerBase, and the compact single-channel EC-1 charger. For larger-scale operations there are 4 and 8-channel true simultaneous intelligent multi-chemistry chargers, the VL-4Si, and the slim wall-mountable MC-8i quick charger - ideal for trucks and studios.

IDX has all HD angles covered with multi-channel simultaneous chargers for those running on 7.2V equipment. The LC-7P and LC-7S are 4-channel chargers for Panasonic- and Sony-type 7.2V batteries.
