JVC and Tandberg TV Demonstrate Wireless HD over 2km (11/9/2006)

"It's that first mile of transmission which is so critical and yet which can be so difficult" says Reinhard Kuehn of Tandberg TV, manufacturer of the new 20,000 Û HD transmitter/receiver system for JVC's ProHD cameras. Uncluttered working areas, free of trailing cables are desirable if not made obligatory now by legislation.

With ProHD camcorder and Tandberg TV's wireless system having a combined price of approx 25,000 €, this is around one fifth the price of other HD wireless systems.

Like the ProHD camcorder itself, the Tandberg Pocket CT2200HDV digital transmitter is very compact in size, looking like a 12V camera battery. Indeed the transmitter unit has V-clip and V-mount front and rear so it neatly attaches and holds the battery.

The unit is being demonstrated in public for the first time on JVC stand 10.441 at IBC.
