Digidesign Announces New Offerings for VENUE at NAB 2006 (17/5/2006)

Digital Stage Input and Output Cards, VENUEPack 2.0 and VENUEPack Pro 2.0 Plug-in Bundles, and VENUE D-Show 2.0 Software Now Available

Digidesign is pleased to announce great new offerings that significantly enhance the flexibility, efficiency and processing capabilities of the VENUE live sound environment:

* The Digital Stage Input (DSI) and Digital Stage Output (DSO) card options provide alternative digital input and output capabilities for VENUE systems.

* VENUEPack 2.0 and VENUEPack Pro 2.0 are impressive collections of the most sought-after effects processing and analysis plug-ins available for the VENUE platform. VENUEPack 2.0 is included with every VENUE system and features the Troodon Technologies TrooTrace(tm) audio analysis bundle, while VENUEPack Pro 2.0 offers five additional high-quality plug-ins with the purchase of a D-Show(tm) Mix Engine DSP card.

* D-Show 2.0 software-an upgrade to the VENUE system software-delivers extended snapshot automation capabilities, improved workflows, and expanded signal routing and control possibilities.

Digital Stage Input (DSI) and Digital Stage Output (DSO) Card Options The new DSI and DSO card options for the VENUE live sound environment extend the system's flexibility by offering additional digital input and output options for the Stage Rack. Engineers can use these cards to integrate a wider range of digital peripherals and components than previously possible.

A single DSI card provides eight channels of digital input for the VENUE Stage Rack, either through four AES/EBU pairs on individual XLRs or via a single ADAT optical interface. A single DSO card offers eight channels of AES/EBU outputs across four discrete XLRs as well as eight channels via the ADAT optical interface. The DSO keeps both AES/EBU and ADAT connections active at all times, creating a digital split with the AES signals mirrored to the ADAT connection.

DSI Features

* Eight channels of digital input for the Stage Rack

* Inputs integrate with a range of digital peripherals and components, including digital audio workstations, sound effects playback devices, mic preamps, and format converters
* Input source selection (AES or ADAT) via software

* Software bypass of onboard sample-rate converters, allowing for lower latency pass-through
* Complete compatibility with the existing VENUE system-no additional hardware is required
* 75-ohm BNC Word Clock output for synching external source devices to D-Show

DSO Features

* Eight channels of digital output for the Stage Rack
* Four AES/EBU pairs on individual XLRs, and a single ADAT optical interface
* Simultaneous output of both AES/EBU and ADAT lightpipe audio
* Direct digital connection to a range of digital peripherals and components, including digital speaker processors, power amps, powered speakers, digital audio workstations, and format converters
* 48 kHz output sample rate

VENUEPack 2.0 and VENUEPack Pro 2.0 Plug-in Bundles

VENUEPack 2.0 is an updated version of the software bundle included free with every VENUE live sound environment. Valued at $6,795, VENUEPack 2.0 offers a collection of the most coveted Digidesign and Digidesign Development Partner TDM effects processing and analysis plug-ins. VENUEPack Pro 2.0, valued at $2,475, provides five free additional plug-ins with the purchase of a D-Show Mix Engine DSP card.
