News SADiE Releases V5.5 Software (15/5/2006) SADiE announces the immediate availability of software version V5.5 for the SADiE Series 5 range of digital audio workstations. Timed to coincide with the general availability of the unique new SADiE LRX Location Audio Workstation, V5.5 introduces many powerful new editing & recording features. These expanded capabilities will not only further enhance usage of the LRX, but will also offer benefits across the entire SADiE Series 5 range of workstations. A brief summary of the new features available in SADiE software version V5.5 is as follows: The first thing that users will notice is a radical improvement to the user interface which introduces a striking new colouring scheme to ease identification of individual streams and groups in the playlist and relate them to their mixer strips. This interface 'make over' also introduces a new look to the toolbars and buttons in the playlist and mixer. The overall effect is designed to simplify and aid multitrack operation. Enhanced support for the SADiE LRX Location Audio Workstation and PCM-H64 multitrack platforms now includes a new dedicated 'MTR' multi-track recorder interface to enable simpler setups and operation of systems in the style of traditional multitrack recorders. Projects thus created may still be opened in the full version of SADiE V5.5 software later for editing and post production operations. Following valuable feedback from field-recording customers, a comprehensive metadata interface has been introduced for inserting metadata and handling of file and take names during the record process to simplify the management of takes. Support for recording to a mirrored disk, in addition to the primary recording drive, provides simultaneous back-up of files as standard in V5.5. Another important development in V5.5 is the provision of enhanced support for leading recording consoles such as the SSL range, including the AWS-900, as a hardware controller. Other notable new features include Variable Nudge for moving clips by an exact amount and the SADiE mixer has not been forgotten in this release by the provision of Improved Solo logics along with a host of smaller enhancements. There are also a number of new Chargeable Options introduced in V5.5, briefly summarised as follows: * Improved and updated OMF Import and Export option * Direct creation of DDPi and CDs from high sample-rate material. * Auto-conform enhancements - Expand channels; Re-linking to metadata in Field Recorder files; Multi-channel auto-conform from tape. Contact your dealer or SADiE representative for more details and pricing of these options.
