Digital Vision introduced the latest generation of Nucoda Film Cutter, a powerful SD to 4K video and data conform, edit and review solution. Nucoda is a product line of Digital Vision.

Based on a standard PC platform, Nucoda Film Cutter's unique feature-set provides an unrivalled range of functions for all stages of the digital film pipeline including digital dailies, film-to-tape, tape-to-film, Digital Intermediate (DI) conforming, quality control, the list of applications is endless.

Using Nucoda Film Cutter, which includes Nucoda's award-winning Data Conform(tm) technology, a colourist can ingest using EDLs or cutlists, then conform from image sequences off local and network storage or SD and HD videotape effortlessly, and proceed to playback, carrying out transitions and re-times automatically. Nucoda Film Cutter's timeline has unlimited image tracks, which allow for multiple versions to be compared side by side or title and graphics to be composited over the edit.

Already an invaluable tool for many major post facilities worldwide, Nucoda Film Cutter allows users to conform image data files at any resolution and from any location. Once conformed, a "Virtual Film Out" can be created to pre-visualise the sequence prior to record. The Nucoda Colour Management API allows colourists to incorporate the colour management system of their choice for accurate representation of final film print, or video colour space.

Nucoda Film Cutter provides significant time and cost saving benefits for anyone working with film, from the creation of dailies, through to first edits and pre-visualising of special effects. It is possible to create whole sequences from scratch using the fully featured edit timeline or import timelines from offline systems via, EDL and cutlists. Conforming is effortless, the colourist just has to locate the disk volume, and Nucoda Film Cutter searches, imports and auto conforms the scans. Once the sequence is assembled, it can easily be checked back to the offline cut via tape or movie file.

Nucoda Film Cutter drives the latest HD, 2K and 4K monitors and projectors for ultimate detail and quality. The real-time colour management and pan and scan makes it possible to present to clients just seconds after scanning a roll. For approvals copies, Nucoda Film Cutter can create movie files or export to videotape with the necessary colour space conversion applied. Once the conform is complete, the project can be imported into Nucoda Film Master or Nucoda Colour Timer for creative grading or exported to film recorder for film out.
