This bumper edition brings you our round-up from the NAB 2008 Convention. For information released prior to the event, please see our April and March preview editions. While Apple and Avid were absent this year, there was certianly no shortage of their respective kit on display, and despite the talk of recession, the show still had a buzz and exhibitors reported good business. The message from this year's show was that broadcasting is definitely becoming 'broader-casting'. The Internet, IPTV management and delivery systems and encoding solutions for multiple platforms were everywhere. Other emerging trends include the growing move to 1080p infrastructure with 3Gb/s-capable equipment, and the increase in 3D productions. In fact our only disappointment was that the Quantel 3D demonstration was fully booked, so we didn't get to see it!
